Swimming in Brittany
Betineuc Lake, within walking distance from our gite, has a 3.5km bridle path with recently built landing stages for fishing. For the fit ones, a circuit training course for those who want more than just a walk.
There is also a sandy beach, ideal for sunbathing, whilst the kiddies have sand castle building competitions or you can take a dip in the lake to cool off. Water sport activities are also available as well as a well equipped café serving snacks, drinks and ice creams in the summer.
Dotted around the lake are benches and shady picnic areas, so have a break, relax, watch and eavesdrop on the bird-song whilst picking blackberries in August, perfect…
For those who prefer swimming in a supervised pool, Léhon outdoor swimming pool is heated all year round.
Only 10 minutes from our gite, the pool is located in this picturesque village on the river Rance, a charming village which has preserved its rich architectural heritage. Whilst swimming, you will gaze upon the beautiful Abbey of St Magloire in one direction and woodland in the other.
The children will love the water-slide and the two paddling pools. There is also a Solarium and grass area for sunbathing and picnics, so you can enjoy the whole day there.
If you fancy swimming in the sea, you will find several beautiful beaches about 30 minutes from the gite along the North coast.
Most of the beaches in Brittany are quiet and peaceful where you can chill out whilst your children burn off all that energy and play in the surf.
I recommend, amongst others, Les Briantais beach in Lancieux which can be found at the end of a short walk through the sand dunes.
Some beaches are livelier with water sport activities and beach cafés.
Why not visit a different beach everyday and truly discover the idyllic charm of this wonderful coastline?
Beaches and coves can also be found all along the Rance estuary.
One of the favourites is at Mordreuc, a picturesque
fisherman’s village, where a female seal and pup can frequently be seen sunbathing!
Water Park
Cobac Parc is a short drive away from our gite.
As well as a wide-range of activities (crazy golf, pedal karting, 200 sqm of indoor game area, carrousel, train, mechanical ponies, pirate’s ship, etc) for all ages and tastes, there is a heated aquatic area (water at 26°C/ 79° F).
